The U.S. reported 18,137 new cases in the past 24 hours, one-quarter of all the new cases in the world, bringing the total of new cases to 1,347,936, thirty-two percent of the world’s total.

The U.S. reported 1,156 Americans died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, for a total of 80,684 deaths, twenty-eight percent of the world’s total.
