Hoofing it
After a full day at the Department of Administration I am well and truly oriented, I can tell you! Is it just me, or does Department of Administration sound redundant to you, too? Or maybe it just sounds backwards, like it ought to be Administration of Departments. Okay, that went nowhere, didn’t it? I came Read.

A Trip to the Silver Eagle
My Darling B and I went to the Silver Eagle yesterday afternoon. It’s the closest neighborhood bar to our house and we went there because we’d like to have a place we could walk to for a beer and a quiet corner to sit and chat. Even at five o’clock in the afternoon, this does Read.

You Too Can Afford To Grind Your Own Coffee Beans
New coffee toy! It’s a coffee grinder. My grandmother had one of these; I think my aunt (her daughter) has it now. Not exactly like this one; hers was a wooden box with an iron crank on top. If memory serves, she kept pennies in it. The last time I asked her, she said she Read.

Great Taste
While I was looking through the photos I shot at the Great Taste of the Midwest yesterday, the first thought that came to mind when I saw this one was, Who are these people? My brain was still a little fogged from imbibing a bit too enthusiastically at the Great Taste this year. I’m usually Read.

Rolling Rock
I had a late lunch today and needed a drink that I chug along with the calzone I was going to wolf down before I scampered back to the work shop to play with power tools some more. When I opened the fridge this bottle of Rolling Rock was in the front and I thought, Read.

Lightweight
My Darling B works with people who sure know how to have a good time. After picking her up from work at the usual hour we drove just a couple blocks to the Great Dane tavern near the Hilldale Mall to down a few cold beers, maybe eat some greasy food and tell stories. Mostly Read.

A Fine Day Out
Cows! We went to see the cows at Jordandal Farm yesterday! Let me hear you say “Moo!” When we go to the farmer’s market every weekend we buy most of our meats from Jordandal. We’ve never been disappointed by the food and Carrie and Maria have never been anything but friendly and helpful, so when Read.

Growing Power
Yesterday we all piled into the car and drove to McGovern Park, a north Milwaukee neighborhood near Glendale, where we visited Growing Power, an urban farm. Right in the middle of an urban neighborhood, with houses and apartment blocks all around, these guys were growing veggies and raising fish, chickens, goats and turkeys, and selling Read.

Let The Unemployment Begin!
Let the four-day weekend begin! Oh, wait … I’m unemployed, so it’s really more like an indefinite weekend. Well, whatever. I applied for unemployment first thing yesterday morning … or rather, it was first thing after doinking around on the internet for an hour, because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do it until Read.

bottled!
Bottling the beer went off without a hitch – without a single hitch! That never happened before! I usually break the siphon, or spill a whole bunch of beer, or run out of bottle caps … something always goes wrong. Except this time. I shouldn’t feel like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop, Read.
