Book me
While I was doinking around on the internet yesterday I followed a link to someone’s blog where I found a list of the science fiction novels considered “masterworks” by the publishing house Orion Publishing Group. They consider these novels so important that they “deserve to be in print and kept there, rather than languishing as Read.

Shelf-Improvement
I don’t know how many books we have. I wouldn’t be able to give you even a ball park figure. Could be hundreds, could be thousands, I have no way of knowing, because most of them are doubled up in the garage-sale book shelves we’ve collected over the years, and a significant number are still Read.

Hangar Dance
There were two or three other Rosies at the hangar dance last night, but only I had the privilege of dancing with the one who looked just like the one in the poster. The entertainment at Madison’s annual hangar dance is provided by Ladies Must Swing, an all-girl band that plays tunes made famous by Read.

A Fine Day Out
Cows! We went to see the cows at Jordandal Farm yesterday! Let me hear you say “Moo!” When we go to the farmer’s market every weekend we buy most of our meats from Jordandal. We’ve never been disappointed by the food and Carrie and Maria have never been anything but friendly and helpful, so when Read.

Thursday Night Group Dance
Sean was just game enough to go with us to our weekly group salsa class at Social Life last night. I’m not sure how much he was looking forward to it, but once we got him there and started cutting a rug he picked up quite a few good dance moves in just forty-five minutes! Read.

Growing Power
Yesterday we all piled into the car and drove to McGovern Park, a north Milwaukee neighborhood near Glendale, where we visited Growing Power, an urban farm. Right in the middle of an urban neighborhood, with houses and apartment blocks all around, these guys were growing veggies and raising fish, chickens, goats and turkeys, and selling Read.

The Secret
Here’s one that’ll take me a little while to live down, at least in my own mind: My Darling B and I go to a group dance class each Tuesday and Thursday night. It sounds like a lot, but each class is only forty-five minutes and it goes by so quickly that it’s over just Read.

Tulpan
My Darling B said she heard good things about the movie Tulpan at the film festival last fall and, indeed, there seem to be nothing but good reviews about it everywhere we look: “Astonishing!” “Magnificent!” “Spectacular!” are typical of the ways it’s described, so we popped the DVD in the player, curled up on the Read.

Let The Unemployment Begin!
Let the four-day weekend begin! Oh, wait … I’m unemployed, so it’s really more like an indefinite weekend. Well, whatever. I applied for unemployment first thing yesterday morning … or rather, it was first thing after doinking around on the internet for an hour, because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to do it until Read.

Down In Flames
Just as I was sitting down to lunch, the phone rang and I picked it up without screening it first. I’ve got to stop doing that. Wasn’t thinking this time. I was half daydreaming, my mind long-lost in the days when a ringing phone meant that somebody you knew was calling. Remember when? Actually, I Read.
