  • first dancing lesson

    , , , ,

Guess what we did last night? We went dancing! We’ve been saying for years that we wanted to take dancing lessons and last week B made a command decision and signed us up for an introductory lesson. We plunked down twenty-five bucks at a studio just north of here for forty-five minutes of private instruction Read.

“Why’s it impossible to starve in the desert?” I asked My Darling B the other day. A longish silence intervened. I hadn’t attempted to tell B an actual joke in years and I think she may have suspected I was asking for an honest answer. After weighing the question for what seemed like a full Read.

  • waiting room

    , , ,

I keep finding these guys here in the morning, just sitting, like this, as if they’re waiting for something. They can’t be waiting in line for the bathroom. We have two cat pans and two cats. There is no line, ever. All I can think is, they’re doing that spooky cat thing where they sit Read.

  • tangled

My Darling B had a bad dream the other night. She dreamed that she woke up and saw somebody standing in the doorway. It was one of those dreams where she knew she was dreaming, and she knew that if she called out to me I’d wake her up and everything would be all right, Read.

  • Bonky Moon

    ,

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mister Bonky Moon! We’ve called him Bonkers ever since he came home with us, but you know how it is: You get bored with saying the same thing over and over, or he does something really crazy … actually, that’s how we Read.

  • tired poor

As long as I was digging through old photos and scanning them, I couldn’t resist digitizing this beauty and posting it on the interwebs. This is your favorite O-couple back in 1997 (I think) making an appearance at the local elementary school on their costume day. My Darling B spent all week making that costume. Read.

  • Risk

    , ,

We finally got around to playing that game of Risk last night. B fixed some doner kebaps for dinner using the leftover lamb from the night before. A doner is a Turkish gyro, roast lamb sliced thin and piled in the pocket of a pita-like bread with lots of veggies and yogurt sauce. We discovered Read.

  • the plan

I wasn’t going to get up any earlier than five-thirty this morning to fix coffee for My Darling B, but the cats had an agenda and the first item on it was scheduled at five. Bonkers jumped into bed first. This is a new tactic. Before this, he would stand at the end of the Read.

  • happiness

This is all he needs to be soooo happy. Nothing more than a warm lap. He wouldn’t mind it if you rubbed his ears, too. Read.

  • dinner with Nazis

Happy birthday to Tim! Happy birthday to Tim! Let’s have supper with Nazis! Wait … supper with Nazis? Nazis. Jackboot-wearing Nazis. Skinheaded, swastikas tattooed on their necks, wearing t-shirts made to look like rock concert souvenirs with the dates of “Hitler’s European Tour” on the back. It was the first time we’d been to a Read.
