great
Beer: I drank lots of it at The Great Taste of the Midwest yesterday, but – and this is key – not as much of it as I have in the past. And especially not as much as last year, thank goodness. I was hoping to remain upright and not spill as much beer this Read.

pre-GTOTMW
Note to future self: When attending Great Taste of the Midwest Pre-Party, do not attempt to eat a hamburger that’s bigger than your head. Really, that thing must have weighed a half-pound at least, and they piled cheese, onion rings and two strips of bacon on top of it. Realizing my mistake, I ate just Read.

Cowboys & Aliens
Seanster, My Darling B and I went to see Cowboys & Aliens last night. B got the tickets, Seanster got the popcorn and sodas, I got to sit back and enjoy the movie. So Heinlein was wrong. There is such a thing as a free lunch. You can expect to pay fifteen bucks for a Read.

hotcakes
I woke up with a need for pancakes yesterday morning. A need, as in, I had to have pancakes as much as I needed to breathe in and out. Has that ever happened to you? I don’t get that feeling often, but when it hits me I put on some pants, grab the car keys Read.

I coasted for another block. “Sounds good,” B Read.

snort
Here’s a fun thing to do on a Friday evening after work: Stop by the Old Sugar Distillery for a snort. We have a few brew pubs in town where you can pull up a chair and ask them to draw a frosty glass of beer brewed right on the premises, but up until the Read.

shake it
After our weekly Saturday morning trip to the farmer’s market, we returned home to put the perishables away, then headed back out up Monona Drive and turned down Cottage Grove road to visit the antiques mall just past the highway overpass. We were in search of a cocktail shaker. There’s a good reason to explain Read.

hum ditty
Dinner on Thursday night is my job, so it’s been known as guy night for many, many moons here in Our Humble O’Bode. I gave up trying to cook anything that couldn’t be grilled over hot charcoal, and most of the time I take the easy way out and treat My Darling B to dinner Read.
