I took my bike to Fayette and it’s a good thing I did because I did so much hiking the first two days that on the third morning I was so badly hobbled by blisters that I couldn’t enjoy walking around the park much. On the plus side — always trying to see the plus side — the blisters encouraged me to stop frequently for long contemplative sits on the few benches in the park (Hey! Michigan DNR! Your historic park needs more benches! Get on that!). But on the very much negative side, those blisters hurt! It’s been a while since I’ve had blisters that were as painful. Here’s hoping I never have to suffer blisters like that again.
So it’s a lucky thing I decided to take my bike along because I could ride it just about everywhere
