I’m not going to make a great big thing about this, but the temperature got up to twenty-four degrees today. We’re having a heat wave! A tropical heat wave!

If it doesn’t seem like that to you, consider that the temp was zero as we drove in to work this morning. It’s been so cold for so long that it’s literally driving people crazy. I don’t know how else to explain why people were riding their bikes. Even if it were their only transportation, surely there is no one so egregiously Scrooge-like in this world who would make their employees bike to work when the air is so cold that it doesn’t even have a number.

But whatever. It got warmer is the point. If it got warmer once, it could happen again, is all I’m saying. At least that’s the thin hope I’m holding on to for the next four to six weeks, and anyone who tries to pop my bubble’s going to wonder how they woke up in the emergency room with a black eye. You have been warned.
