I thought my tablet became an expensive brick the other day when the browser stopped working. I twiddled with the settings, but nothing I could think of would unlock it.

“I can’t get this to work,” I said to My Darling B as I twiddled with it, thinking she might have hidden reserves of sophisticated computer knowledge that I wasn’t aware of.

Turned out, she did. “Did you try shutting it off and switching it back on again?” she asked.

Huh. Well, no. I hadn’t.
